The Late: Robert Van Kampen, (Photo above) of Sola Scriptura purchased & renovated
the previous Survivors location: Hampton court, Hereford in 1994 (The year I first visited Survivorland).
Thanks to photos supplied by The Van Kampen family, I can now bring you, the
story in pictures of how Hampton court was saved from becoming a ruin.....a few photos are
my own, scanned from negatives - in some cases. I will be adding further photos - please email any
requests & I will assist if possible.

Whilst on Holiday
in Europe with his wife, Robert Van Kampen decided to visit Hampton court estate, a place he was
interested in purchasing 9 months earlier but was outbid at public auction. Upon meeting the owner of the estate, Robert
was surprised to find the winning bidder was unable to fulfill his commitment.
A short time
later, Robert had struck a deal to purchase this beautiful estate. Sadly, Robert did not live to
fully see the end of the project, as he died from a heart attack (awaiting a transplant) in Oct 1999. Robert's
family completed the renovations, then eventually sold Hampton court in 2008.
